Virgin Poker General House Policies
This section will inform you on all-in procedures and general Virgin Poker
house policies.
All–In Procedures:
What is an all-in?
All-in protection is designed to protect players' investments
into a pot when they run out of money, do not act in time or are disconnected
for any reason.
If a player does not have enough money to continue:
A bet that a player makes that uses up all of the chips he has remaining at the
table. For example, in a 15-30 game, a player who only had $7 left at the table
would be allowed to use that $7 to call or bet. If there is only one other
player left in the hand at that point, the betting has ended for that hand, and
the system will deal out the remainder of the cards quickly and automatically.
If there are three or more players remaining in the hand when someone runs out
of money and goes all in, a "side pot" is created, which is contested for only
by the players who still have money. It is possible, in multi-way hands, for
more than one side pot to be created, if more than one player run out of money
at different times. If a player is involved in a side pot, he may win that,
even if he cannot beat the all-in player for the main pot.
Note that more money cannot be added in the middle of a hand. We suggest that
more chips are added before the next hand begins.
Finally, note that using an all-in in this manner—running out of money in the
middle of a hand—does not use up the all-in that is allowed per day, as
explained below. That all-in is used up only by a failure to respond, not by
running out of money.
If a player fails to act in time or is disconnected:
If a player fails to act in time—for example, if an emergency calls him to
another room in the house, or if he loses his connection—he is treated as if he
were all-in for that hand. This feature protects the money the player already
has in the pot in case of a bad connection or a home emergency. Note! This is
the case in Limit Games. In Pot Limit and No Limit Games, a player's hand is
folded if he fails to act in time or is disconnected. These rules are in place
to protect the integrity and fairness of the games for all players, including
yourself.
As an all-in player, a player can only contend for the money in a pot that he
contributed to. All other action of remaining "active" players goes into a
"side pot" to be fought for by them.
***Important information to know***
Players in Virgin Poker games are given one "emergency" all-in per 24 hour
period. If at anytime a player's all-in status is zero (0) the player is
playing at his own risk. This simply means that he does not have all-in
protection and if he is disconnected or fails to act in time, HIS HAND WILL BE
FOLDED AND HIS INVESTMENT WILL BE LOST without any recourse whatsoever.
Although we allot players one (1) all-in protection per 24 hours, we will
consider resetting players' protection back to one if warranted. Simply contact
support@poker.virgingames.com for consideration. However, if Virgin
Poker suspects abuse of the all-in protection feature, this may result in loss
of membership or denied reset request.
Lastly, sending a request or receiving approval notification does not imply
that players have all-in protection; they do not have all-in protection until
they see this in their account.
Once a player is all-in:
-
The player receives all cards as usual.
-
The all-in player has no option to bet.
-
All other money bet after the player is all-in cannot be won by the all-in
player and will be put into a side pot for all active players to win.
-
If the player who is all-in has the action, then the dealer will move to the
next player clockwise. This will continue until an active player shows a better
top hand.
-
The player may fold his cards only on the river and only after the side pot (if
there is one) has been awarded to active players.
Other House Policies
1. Server Crash or Game freeze:
In the event of a server crash that removes all players from the table or
prevents the hand from continuing, the hand will be considered dead (void) and
all the money will be returned to all players after an investigation is
completed within 48 hours.
2. Errors that do not cause a dead hand:
In the event the game pushes the pot to the wrong player or misreads the
winning hand, certified poker support service members will correct the error by
adjusting the players' accounts within 24 hours.
3. Cheating of any kind:
If management suspects such an activity, the player(s) accused will be
investigated. Players found to have been, or reasonably suspected of cheating
in any form, will have their account privileges terminated throughout Boss
Media's casinos indefinitely. Using the standard of "beyond a reasonable doubt"
to indicate cheating, Virgin Poker has the right to confiscate any funds won
while cheating. Confiscated funds will be distributed to victim players. Boss
Media/Virgin Poker will never keep confiscated funds. Any player who has funds
confiscated for cheating will be told the screen names of the players who have
received their money.
4. Team play or collusion:
Team play or collusion is the act of two or more players "teaming up" to gain a
competitive advantage by signalling card values or making raises and re-raises
that are intended to force a victim player out of a pot. If customer service
receives a complaint about such an activity or management suspects such
activity, the players accused/suspected will have their accounts and playing
activity reviewed by management. Players found to have been acting, or
reasonably suspected of acting as a team, will have their account privileges
terminated throughout Boss Media's casinos indefinitely. If warranted, Virgin
Poker has the right to confiscate any funds won while acting as a team.
Confiscated funds will be distributed to victim players.
5. Violations of house rules - If a player commits any of the following acts, he
is in breach/violation of house rules:
-
Players may not chat about a hand while it is in progress (i.e., a comment like
"I have a heart flush draw." General comments like "I'm going to get my revenge
this hand" may be considered acceptable);
-
Players may not offer advice to another player through the chat during a hand,
or urge a player to take any kind of action;
-
Only English and the table specific language may be written in the chat;
-
Any foul, abusive or threatening language will not be tolerated on any game
table;
-
Players may not chat about any mucked cards they held during a hand; and
-
Players may not chat about any current cards being held during a hand.
Management will judge the severity of a violation. Virgin Poker has the right
suspend or revoke membership privileges.
