Free Poker Practice

So you're new to poker and a little bit nervous about risking money straight away when there are lots of more experienced players out there just waiting to pounce. If you're sensible that'll be your thought process and that's why the free practice fun money tables are there – to let you learn the basics of the game without having to risk any of your own cash.

Once logged in to the poker room you can go to the Tables section, choose the variety of poker you'd like to practice (Texas Hold'em, Omaha, Seven Card Stud, Five Card Stud or Five Card Draw ) and then select the 'Practice tables. Choose a table you'd like to sit down at and you'll be given 200 Fun Money chips to play with. If you have any mishaps and lose them all you can simply go to the cashier and re-load for free.



The one problem with playing for free fun money is that because nothing is at stake players do tend to call bets with anything and it's not always a realistic simulation of the real thing. However, you can play in a freeroll tournament and while it's still free to enter there will be a cash prize to play for so players will usual play with more care plus you may end up winning some cash!!

To find some Free rolls to play log in to the poker room, go to the 'Multi Tourney' tab and then select 'Freeroll' on the sub-menu. Here you'll see all of the available freerolls to play in, including Virgin exclusive €35 freeroll every evening at 7.30pm.



Once you've cut your teeth at the practice tables and freerolls and are feeling more confident then you may consider moving up to the low stakes cash games and tournaments. If you plan to play more seriously only take one step up the table levels each time – playing higher levels than you're used to will often lead to your bankroll suffering!!
