Poker Room Features

At Virgin Poker we try to provide you with as many features and tools as possible to help you improve your play and give you the widest variety of play possible.

Below are our summary of our key poker room tools and how you can use them to benefit you.

Player Stats

Analyze your game with the live online playing statistics. Click on the 'Statistics' tab in the bottom left of the screen when you are playing live and look for areas of improvement.

Here are a couple of examples of stats to look out for:

Game summary:

Flops seen: Where you were still in the hand to see the first set of community cards. Bear in mind that the most successful poker players see approximately 20% of flops when there are 10 other players at the table and 50% of flops when there are 4 players at the table.

Won with flops seen: A low percentage here suggests you are calling early on with less than premium hands - or perhaps that you are folding too easily after the flop.

Actions:

An interesting set of stats for considering if you are betting at the right times. For example it is widely agreed that you should fold more than you raise, and raise or re-raise more than you call.

Actions

Points of fold:

Are you being enticed to carry on betting for longer than you should? Clearly you want the percentages for fold on turn and fold on river to be low.

'All In' Odds

When playing in a Tournament (MTT or Sit&Go) if more than one player goes 'all in' there will be a showdown and the percentage probability of each player winning is displayed and updated after the flop, turn and river.

If you find the majority of 'all ins' you are calling reveal less than 50%, this is probably a sign that you need to tighten up your play and call less often.

Hand History

Whether you want to relive a glorious poker moment or learn from a mistake, the 'hand history' feature will tell you everything you need to know. Get this information by going to the 'Support' tab and then click on 'Hand History'. This opens up a web page with your history on sorted by date and table.

Your hand history is sorted on your PC or laptop so if you use more than one computer to play on Virgin you will only be able to see the hands you played on that machine.

Player Notes

To help give you a competitive edge use this feature to remind you of certain characteristics you have discovered about your opponents. Simply click on the player discs and a pop-up will appear where you can write your notes. These will be saved for when you play the same opponent in the future but once again these are stored locally on your PC so can't be viewed if you play from another computer.

Table Mini View

If you like to play on more than one table at the same time you may want to open the tables in mini view to enable you to keep an eye on all your hands on one monitor.

Before you sit down at the table check the box in the bottom filter menu (see below) call 'Start in Miniview'. This will open up the table in a smaller version when you sit down and your seat will always be rotated to the same place on all tables to help you as you multitable.

If you want to change your view during a game you will need to close the table down, un-check the box and re-open.

Multi tabling can let you earn more money per hour of play but playing too many tables can also reduce your profitability as your attention becomes split.

Waiting List

If you want to play a specific table or table level but it is full currently then you can join the waiting list to make sure you can play as soon as possible.

Simply click on to the table in the lobby and then click the 'Join Waiting List' button. You will now be presented with the option of:

  • Joining the waiting list for that specific table, or
  • Join the waiting list to play on the first table of that level + currency which becomes available in the poker room. With this option you can also select the minimum number of people which you want sitting at the table which you join.

When a table is ready for you a pop up will appear alerting you and asking you if you wish continue and join the available table.

Four Colour Deck

Just to help you spot those flush draws you can choose to show all the suits in distinct colours. The option to change this is under the 'Settings' tab.

  • Spades - Black
  • Hearts - Red
  • Clubs - Green
  • Diamonds - Blue

Finding a Player

If you want to check if a friend is currently online and playing or if you're trying to search out a player you believe to be a bit of a soft touch you can use our 'Find a Player' function.

Simply click on the 'Find Player' tab and search for the player by their poker room nickname.

Shushing a bothersome player

A user can block the chat messages of another player who is currently seated at the same table. The user simply clicks the annoying player's disc and a pop up will appear. Click on the player in the left side list and then click the 'Mute' button. The annoying player's messages will remain blocked between logins until the user decides to unblock by repeating the above process.

Pending Bonus

As a Virgin Poker player we'll often be treated to great bonuses so you'll need to know how close you are earning all of these. To do this you can either:

  • Go to www.virginpoker.com and log-in to your account and then visit the bonus section, or
  • Go to the 'Support' tab in the poker room and click on 'Bonus Information'.

Both routes will bring you to our bonus section and here you can track which bonuses are currently active and how much of them you have already earned/are still to earn.
