About The Game

The popular 5-card poker game where you play head-to-head against the dealer. With a strong hand you can win the base bet, plus win big bonus money. We've also spiced the game up with a sidebet which pays £25,000 for a Royal Flush!

Introduction

Caribbean Stud Poker™ is the fast, fun, and easy to learn Stud Poker game. After seeing your full hand and one of the dealer's cards, you then decide whether or not to raise your bet and play head-to-head against the dealer.

The game also offers an exciting Side Bet Bonus - get a Flush, Full House, or Four-of-a-Kind and you can win huge awards. Get a Straight Flush or Royal Flush and you win up to 25,000 times your initial Side Bet!

How To Play

Start by placing an Ante bet and, if you wish, a Side Bet Bonus bet as well.

After you have completed your initial betting, click the DEAL button. Both you and the dealer receive 5 cards. All five of your cards are dealt face up, but only one of the dealer's cards is dealt face up, the remaining four dealt face down. Now you must decide whether to play your hand and raise your bet to challenge the dealer, or whether to fold your hand and end that game. If you decide to play your hand click the RAISE button or the Bet circle, you then place a Play bet that is worth twice your Ante bet in the Bet circle. After raising, your hand will be compared against the dealer's. If you decide not to play this hand, you can click the FOLD button, which will forfeit your Ante bet and end that game.

Playing against the Dealer

If you choose to raise, then the dealer's hand is revealed and examined. The dealer needs to have an Ace and a King, or a higher Poker hand outcome to qualify to play and have their hand compared against to your hand. If the dealer does not qualify to play, then you win 1 to 1 on your Ante bet and your Play bet is returned. This payout occurs whether or not your hand is actually better than the dealer's.

If the dealer qualifies to play, then the best hand wins. If the dealer has a better hand than yours, you lose both your Ante and your Play bets. If you have the best hand you then win twice. First you win 1 to 1 on your Ante bet. Then your Play Bet win is based upon your Poker hand relative to the main pay table. If both the dealer's and your hands match exactly, then this is called a push where no hand wins, and then your Ante and Play bets are returned.

How To Bet

To play Caribbean Stud Poker, you must make an Ante bet. Select a chip value by clicking a chip at the bottom of the playing field. The chip you select is displayed in a raised position. To place your Ante bet, click the Ante spot on the table. Each time you click, you place one chip on the table. Your Ante bet must be at least as large as the Table Minimum Limit and cannot exceed the Table Maximum Limit. Also, your remaining balance must be large enough to cover twice your Ante bet.

To place a Play bet to challenge the dealer's hand, click the RAISE button or click the Bet circle. Placing a Play bet will automatically place a bet twice the value of your Ante bet. The size of your Play bet cannot be larger or smaller than twice the value of the Ante bet.

To place the optional Side Bet Bonus bet, click the Side Bet Bonus coin drop. This will always be a 1-credit bet regardless of the selected chip value.

After placing a Side Bet bet and clicking the DEAL button, the single credit coin you have bet will drop into the Side Bet Bonus coin drop, and the green light on the coin drop will light up, indicating that you have successfully placed this bet.

To remove a bet before the cards are dealt, press and hold the SHIFT key and then click the bet on the table. To remove all bets, click the CLEAR button.

If you wish to repeat your last bet after completing a game, click the REBET button. This will automatically place a bet at the value of your previous Ante bet, and, if you had placed one, your previous Side Bet Bonus bet as well. If you wish, you can adjust your Ante bet and/or your Side Bet Bonus bet. You will need to click the DEAL button to start playing.

The DOUBLE BET button will double your current Ante bet every time you click it. If doubling your current Ante bet would exceed the Table Maximum limit, then the DOUBLE BET button will not be available. If you click the DOUBLE BET button when no bet is yet placed, this is equivalent to first clicking the REBET button and then the DOUBLE BET button and will result in the placing of an Ante bet that is twice as large as your previous bet. You will need to click the DEAL button to start playing.

Side Bet Bonus

To be eligible for the Side Bet Bonus, you must place an Ante bet and make a one-credit Side Bet Bonus bet before the cards are dealt.

If you are dealt a Flush or better, you automatically win the Side Bet bonus! You are paid according to the Side Bet Bonus pay table.

Unlike the main game, the Side Bet Bonus payouts are independent of the dealer's hand. The dealer does not need to qualify to play for you to win the Side Bet Bonus. In addition, your hand does not need to beat the dealer's in order to win the Side Bet Bonus.

Comparing Poker Hands

If two hands have different outcomes, the hand with the outcome higher on the outcome list wins.

If the two hands have the same outcome, for example, if both hands hold a Pair, then the stronger (higher value) of the outcomes wins.

For One Pair, Three-of-a-Kind, and Four-of-a-Kind outcomes, the hand with the highest card value wins. For example, a Pair of Kings beats a Pair of 10s.

For a Two Pair outcome, the hand with the higher high Pair wins. For example, a hand consisting of 3-3-8-8 beats a hand consisting of 5-5-7-7, since the high Pair of 8s beats the high Pair of 7s. Similarly, if the high Pair is the same, then the low Pair is compared. For example, a 5-5-J-J beats a 3-3-J-J because the high Pair matches and the low Pair of 5s beats the low Pair of 3s.

For a Full House, the hand with the higher Three-of-a-Kind wins. For example, 8-8-8-K-K beats a A-A-5-5-5 because the three 8s beat the three 5s.

When comparing a Straight, Flush, or Straight Flush hands, the hand with the higher high card wins. For example, a 7-8-9-10-J Straight beats a 6-7-8-9-10 Straight. Likewise, a 7-8-9-10-J Straight beats a A-2-3-4-5 Straight because the Jack high card beats the 5 high card.

If the winning outcomes are the same between two hands, then the remaining cards in the hand are examined. For example, a 5-3-3-8-8 beats a 4-3-3-8-8 because, while the high and low Pairs both match, the remaining 5 beats the 4.

Likewise, a 2-9-J-8-8 beats a 4-5-J-8-8. The Pair of 8s match, as do the high card Jacks, but looking at the next highest cards, the 9 beats the 5.

Poker Hand Rankings

This list contains the possible Poker hand outcomes ranked from the highest value (Royal Flush) to lowest value (High Card). For two cards to have the same rank, they must have the same number (like two 8s) or the same picture (like two Queens).

Straight Flush: Five cards of consecutive rank; all of the same suit. For example, 4-5-6-7-8 of Hearts.
Four-of-a-Kind: Four cards with the same rank.
Full House: A combination of a Three-of-a-Kind and One Pair.
Flush: Five cards of same suit.
Straight: Five cards of consecutive rank of mixed suits. Ace can be high (as in 10-J-Q-K-A) or low (as in A-2-3-4-5).
Three-of-a-Kind: Three cards with the same rank.
Two Pair: Two sets of two cards, each set of the same rank.
