Winning Encounter™ Bonus
The player can spin free until they sink the enemy ship, or the
enemy ship sinks them, or they have spun 100 times.
The free spins reels are similar to the reels in the main game
with stacks of three Wild symbols on every reel. Just like the main
game, these Stacked Wilds can lead to a huge number of simultaneous
wins and some amazingly big payouts -- up to 125,000 credits at max
bet.
Regardless of the number of paylines played in the main game, all
25 paylines in this bonus are always active. The bet per line for
the free spins is the same as the bet that triggered the bonus. For
example, a 2-credit bet on the payline that triggered the bonus
would activate all 25 paylines with a 2-credit bet in the
Winning Encounter Bonus.
Two ships are displayed on the bottom middle of the screen. The
top ship with multipliers is the enemy ship and the bottom ship is
the player's. The ship-to-ship battle progresses when blue and red
torpedo sub-symbols appear on the fourth and fifth reels. If a blue
torpedo sub-symbol appears anywhere on the fourth reel, then the
enemy ship is damaged! If a red torpedo sub-symbol appears anywhere
on the fifth reel, then the player's ship is damaged! Each ship can
be damaged five times before it is sunk.
As the enemy ship receives damage, the free spins multiplier
increases by one. The multiplier at the start of the free spins
bonus is 1x. The player can earn up to a 5x multiplier by
progressively damaging the enemy ship. A multiplier takes immediate
effect after it is earned from a spin.
The free spins bonus is over once one of the ships is sunk.
Earning no credits in the Winning Encounter Bonus
awards the player a consolation of 100 credits.
Sink the Fleet™ Bonus
The bonus is played on an 8x8 grid. Five enemy ships are
randomly located somewhere on the grid.
Enemy Ships
- Carrier (5-length ship).
- Battleship (4-length ship).
- Cruiser (3-length ship).
- Submarine (3-length ship).
- Destroyer (2-length ship).
Enemy Ship Placement Enemy ships could be oriented
horizontally or vertically, but not diagonally.
Enemy ships may be located adjacent to each other, but ships do
not overlap.
Objective
Sink the entire enemy fleet with eight or fewer misses. Click a
spot on the grid to fire a shot. Each shot is either a 'Hit' or a
'Miss'. A corresponding icon with appear on the grid notifying the
shot result. Every part of a ship must be hit in order to sink. If
a hit results in sinking a ship, the ship is revealed on the grid.
The console display on the left side of the screen highlights to
display which ships have been sank. Clicking the 'Click for Pays'
monitor on the left side of the screen reveals the bonus paytable.
The total number of misses remaining are shown on the bottom right
of the console in blue lights. With each miss, a blue light turns
on. The bonus is over when all eight blue lights are turned
on.
Earnings
Credits are earned by either hitting or sinking ships.
All pays are multiplied by the line bet that triggered the bonus.
(See paytable for details on the pays).
Top award earned by sinking the entire enemy fleet, up to 16,100
credits at max bet.
Consolation award given if no ships are hit during the
bonus.
Turbo Mode
Turbo mode allows players to speed through
portions of the Sink the Fleet Bonus. Clicking the
TURBO button bypasses a majority of dialogue and
animation sequences. This allows players to see quickly if the shot
fired was a 'Hit' or a 'Miss'. Click the TURBO button
again to resume normal play. The TURBO button has no
impact on the player's outcome or winnings.

1. Start in the Middle
Given all the possible starting locations of the ships, the centre
spots are more likely to contain a ship than any other spots.
Choose D4, D5, E4, or
E5 as your opening volley.

2. Search From the Middle Out
If you miss initially, where should you fire next? Start from the
middle and work your way out. For example, a good selection of
shots after missing at D4 would be E5,
C6, and then F3.

3. Shoot in Wide Open Areas
Besides shooting at spots near the middle, you also want to fire
at spots with lots of space around them. Generally, avoid shooting
at corners, near edges, near other misses, or near sunken
ships.
4. Once You Hit, Finish the Job
Once you get a Hit on a ship, the best move is always
to focus on finishing that ship off until it is completely
sunk.
5. Fire Toward the Middle: Part I
Once you get a Hit, where should you fire next? For
example, if you get a hit on D4, what is your next
best shot?

It is best to always fire on spots closest to the centre of the
board. In this case, you would want to fire at D5 or
E4.
6. Fire Toward the Middle: Part II
When you get your second Hit on a ship, you
potentially learn the orientation of the ship. Which end should you
fire at next? Again, it is best to fire at the end closest to the
centre of the board. For example, if you got a hit at positions
C4 and D4, it is best to fire at
E4 before firing at B4.

7. Sunk a Ship - What Next?
Once you've successfully sunk a ship, where is your next best
shot? For example, if you sunk a ship at D4,
E4, and F4, where should you fire
next?
| 1 |

| E |
[X] |
| F |
[X] |
| G |
| H |
Your best shot is to fire at the spot closest to the middle that
has four open neighbouring spots. In this case, C5
would be a good next shot since it is close to the middle and its
neighbours B5, C4, C6, and
D6 are all open.
8. Eliminate Each Ship in a Row
Occasionally, you might get two or more Hits in a
row, but not sink a ship, like the following:
| 1 |
2 |
3 |
4 |
5 |
6 |
7 |
8 |
| A |
| B |
| C |
| D |
O |
X |
X |
O |
| E |
∗ |
∗ |
| F |
| G |
| H |
This special case means there are two ships placed adjacent to
each other, one placed vertically through D4, and one
placed vertically through D5. The best strategy is to
completely eliminate each ship in a row before venturing elsewhere
on the board. Again, it is best to choose spots closest to the
center, so E4 and E5 are your next best
shots.
9. Eliminate Extra Hits
Occasionally, you might get several Hits in a row and
then sink a ship only to discover one of the Hits was
not part of the ship, like the following:
| 1 |
2 |
3 |
4 |
5 |
6 |
7 |
8 |
| A |
| B |
| C |
| D |
X |
[X] |
[X] |
[X] |
| E |
∗ |
| F |
| G |
| H |
This means there must be another ship placed on D4
that either goes horizontal or vertical at that point. Where should
you fire next? There are many more ways a ship could be placed
vertically than horizontally at D4, so the best
strategy is to assume the other ship is vertical and fire at
E4.
10. Search For the Big Ships
As you start to sink ships, you may find yourself missing the
largest ships. In this lucky case, it's best to systematically
eliminate where the largest ships could be until you find them. In
this example, the carrier has not yet been found.

A good strategy would be to shoot at the middle of rows and
columns until the carrier is found. In this case, you could shoot
at A4, B4, D1,
D8, and H4. You are guaranteed to find
the carrier in one of those five spots.
